How We Test & The ReviewTwist Rating System
We believe product ratings are worthless unless the underlying methodology is public, reproducible, and completely free of manufacturer influence.
The 7-Factor Scoring Formula
Every product reviewed receives an overall score out of 10.0 calculated from seven standardized weighted pillars:
Raw thermal recovery, blade vortex power, particulate suction pickup, and cooking uniformity.
How the retail price compares against competitive performance in its category segment.
Chassis rigidity, motor couplings, stainless vs plastic hinges, and toxic-free coatings (ceramic vs PTFE).
Genuinely useful features (such as see-through windows and folding wands) vs useless marketing gimmicks.
Intuitive controls, button responsiveness, handle balance, and readability of displays.
Dishwasher-safe parts, crevice grease accumulation, filter replacement accessibility, and descaling.
Manufacturer warranty duration (e.g. Vitamix 7-year vs generic 1-year) and customer service responsiveness.
Our Four Non-Negotiable Testing Rules
- We never accept payment for positive reviews. Brands cannot pay for favorable scores, editorial placements, or badge awards under any circumstances.
- We distinguish manufacturer claims from measured data. If a blender claims 1500 watts, we measure peak draw using a calibrated Kill-A-Watt meter.
- We link to multiple authorized retailers. We give readers choices between Amazon, Walmart, Target, and official direct stores.
- We maintain an active correction log. If a product model changes parts or a firmware update alters performance, our reviews are re-benchmarked and updated.
